WHO IS 'The Podi Pack'?
We're a small (podi - meaning 'small in Sinhala) group of individuals from all over the world brought together by our love for animals.
HOW DID IT START?
Some of you may have already followed our first big challenge, Run for their Life back in October, when we took to the streets of Sri Lanka to raise funds for an animal sanctuary on the island's south coast, home to over 2,200 abandoned, injured and disabled dogs - scroll for more details ⬇️
We didn't know it then, but that's when The Podi Pack was born!
OUR "WHY?"
The Podi Pack is our little way of making a difference to the lives of animals living on the streets. We're a small but passionate team with a big mission, to help as many animals as we can.
There are over 3 million dogs who call Sri Lanka's streets their home, and between 52-62 million free-roaming dogs in India. The best way we know of helping to control disease & viruses and to prevent the suffering of millions of street animals is through sterilisation and vaccination drives.
We've recently launched our very own small line of merchandise (totes and tees) in order to raise funds to start our very own projects in India and Sri Lanka, and to sustain our ongoing projects working to support others on the same mission.
All funds raised and 100% of profits from our merch line will go towards vaccinations, sterilisation and healthcare for the animals living on Sri Lanka and India's streets.
WHO ARE WE? AND WHERE?
Currently, our team are scattered all over the world - with Lucie and Lahiru working on the ground on the South Coast of Sri Lanka; Rebecca, Ana, Cari and Nico scattered across Europe working on (very cool!) merch designs, socials and fundraising ideas, and Kirsty and Kartik working on the ground in Delhi, India.
We're also super keen to collaborate with people, groups and organisations on the same mission and believe that we're all so much better together!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We're a very new initiative, having only formed back in October 2024 - but we have a very big vision!
Your kind donations will allow us to get future projects up and running, including vaccination and sterilisation drives, allow us to continue helping incredible organisations like Animals SOS Sri Lanka with our ongoing Building Projects there, and to make our growing merch line a success & sustainable method of ensuring that we have a lasting impact on the lives of street animals in Sri Lanka and India.

WE EVOLVED FROM THIS ⬇
RUNNING THE LENGTH OF SRI LANKA

In October 2024, I (Lucie) ran the length of Sri Lanka... with a goal to raise funds for an animal sanctuary on the island's south coast, home to over 2,200 abandoned, injured and disabled dogs.
Previous to this, I had put out a call for help, and be it because of fate, cosmic connection or just simply the power of social media - we all met in Sri Lanka and together we ran, cycled, tuk tuked and hobbled our way from Sakkotai Cape, the northernmost tip of the island, right to it's southern end at Dondra Head Lighthouse. Along the way we met, fed and provided emergency care for countless animals living on the streets, encouraging others to show kindness towards them too.
We didn't know it then, but that's when The Podi Pack was born!
We travelled 450km over 17 days, and together, with your help, we raised over £20,000 on our first ever project. As a team we knew we'd made friends for life and we knew that we weren't done just yet... This was only the beginning!
